A Discussion

Was Eminem and Sascha Baron Cohen's stunt at the MTV Awards planned? Who knows... but Eminem looked like an idiot. Peder and I discuss:

After watching almost the entire third season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia last night, my brain has pretty much turned to mush. But... there's always this guy to keep me grounded.

New Andy Samberg / Lonely Island song

Derrick and I had a discussion last night about how comedy albums can ruin careers. I'm assuming nothing different will happen to Andy Samberg but for the time being I'm laughing.

Speaking Up

Japanese Softbank Ad

This video isn't the greatest, but still worth a peek. Brad Pitt and Wes Anderson teamed up to make a commercial for Softbank, but the ad has aired only in Japan. I believe it came out in December, but has been taken down off youtube and various other sites. AOL still has it up though. Take a look.

Nerding it Up!

Thanks to Matt for passing this along to me. The Physics Factbook recently posted a study on the acceleration due to gravity in all of the Super Mario Bros. games. It's kind of hilarious that physicists are now examining the properties of make-believe worlds, but if any one deserves attention, it's definitely Mario's. The result of the study showed that as Mushroom Kingdom has progressed, the force of gravity has become less. In the first few games, the G force was so great that Mario would have lost consciousness. In the latest games for Game Cube and Wii however, the acceleration due to gravity is nearing a value similar to Earth's 9.8 m/s². Looks like all video games are becoming more realistic, except of course for Katamari, which will continue to defy logic and keep us entertained for years. Check the link for the full report.
